Secure remote work and regulatory-ready systems
Initially growing from 2 to around 10 users, Invest South West embarked on a significant system upgrade by introducing onsite servers and robust security measures.
This strategic move was part of their commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and data protection. Transitioning to a refurbished site in Hammet Street marked a new chapter, where a substantial investment was made in enhancing security measures while ensuring seamless system usage across the premises.
The introduction of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) workstations played a pivotal role in providing maximum flexibility within the workplace. This innovative setup allowed users to hot desk and access their desktops effortlessly from various locations. To ensure secure remote access, users outside the premises connected through Virtual Private Network (VPN) to reach their VDI workstations, maintaining centralised security standards with no data stored on local devices. Due to these systems already being in place, the transition to remote work during the pandemic meant our client was able to continue operations with very little disruption. This highlighted the adaptability of our IT solutions in the face of unforeseen challenges, something the client was immensely grateful for in a time that was challenging for all businesses.
In addition, we worked closely with our client to enhance their client services by implementing a customer portal and encrypted communication platform. These additions served as a central hub for clients to manage documents such as mortgage applications and investments conveniently.
To strengthen the security posture and compliance standards, we are currently integrating Microsoft 365 Premium. This aims to future-proof their operations and ensure alignment with evolving regulatory requirements.
